Thank you all for showing us an incredible time in Brazil!  It was truly wonderful to meet a family that we have a connection to from a long time ago.  When traveling through Brazil, we met many people and had wonderful times. But by the time we reached  Joao Pessoa, we were weary and battleworn from travel.  Your wonderful hospitality revived us and helped us end our trip on a high note!

Seeing the pictures of members of our family with Kakito was very moving.  He was a wonderful boy, and you are honoring his memory well.

Regarding football, sadly the US lost to Belgium, and now Belgium has been eliminated by Argentina.  I think the US team was very tired by the end of the tournament, much like the four horseman (Simon, David, Frank, Peter) were exhausted by the end of our trip.  At this point in the tournament, raw talent plays a bigger role, and the US can't make it through based on their advantage in athleticism alone.

That said, we had a fabulous time being supporters and following the US team on their journey.  Being a part of the pandemonium in Natal before the US-Ghana game was unforgettable.  When we thought it couldn't get more exciting, the match finished with a game-winning goal.  Just amazing.  We are happy that we could give you some US gear so that you could join in the support.  At this point there are only the very strongest teams left in the tournament.  A Brazil Argentina final would be historic.  It's too bad that Neymar won't be able to take part.

Regarding pictures, I will set up a Dropbox folder so we can all share our photos.  In a separate email I will send instructions on how to do this.

Could you please send us your mailing address?  Don't worry about the forgotten cashews and sunblock.  A minor casualty of travel!
